Nikolai-Kirche,
Berlin's oldest church

Nikolaiviertel
It's
here, where it
all began in the 13th century. What today is Nikolaiviertel was
then a little village called Berlin.
It's
situated on
the eastern shore of river Spree and is a strange mix of the
reconstructed historical heart of Berlin and post -World War II GDR
apartment blocks with fake historic fronts.
The
area is famous for its traditional German restaurants and bars. Sorry, no pizza.
Historic
details: Wikipedia
How to get there:
It's a five minute walk away from
Alexanderplatz. U2, U5, U8, S3, S5, S7, S9
