Sowjetisches Ehrendenkmal

The Soviet War Memorial is a vast military cemetery in Berlin's Treptower Park. It was built to commemorate 5,000 of the 80,000 Soviet soldiers who died in the Battle of Berlin in April-May 1945. It was opened to the public in May 8, 1949, and served as the central war memorial of East Germany.

How to get there:
The memorial is located right between S-Bahn stations Treptower Park (S8, S9, S41, S42, S85) and Plänterwald (S8, S9, S85). It doesn't matter where you get out, it's at least a 15 minute walk from either side.

Eternal glory for the soldiers of the soviet army who gave their lives fighting to free people from fascist slavery.
