Kreuzberg
As
a mountain (in German "Berg") is a rare thing in Berlin, the Kreuzberg
automatically qualifies as a tourist attraction. But don't take the
word "mountain" too seriously, that's just Berlin humor. The hill is
all but a 67 meters high.
In
summer there's a nice artificial waterfall that makes it
nearly impossible to climb up the hill along the stones. But there are
other ways to get to the top where you have a good view over Berlin.
On
New Years Eve the hill is a central meeting point and you can feel a
touch of World War II with all the folks starting off their individual
fireworks.
How to get there:
The hill is at the intersection of
Kreuzbergstraße and Großbeerenstraße.
It's a ten minute walk from U6/U7 station
Mehringdamm.
