| Renting a bike in
Berlin is quite easy. You simply walk into the next bike shop and
usually they will provide you with one at a cost of roughly ten to
fifteen Euros a day. German
Railways (DB) also are in the bike business. The service is called
"call-a-bike" and you have to register first via internet or phone:
www.callabike.de
or 07000-5225522
After you have done that, you have
to find one of their bikes standing around in the streets, type the
bike's number in your cell-phone and off you go. The price is 0,08
Euro per minute, maximum charge for 24 hours is 15 Euro (2008) and
is debited from your credit card or bank account. You don't have to bring the bike back,
simply leave it where you want.

And whatever bike you use, always lock
it tightly to something. Else it might be gone in a minute... |
