Zwangsarbeiterlager

In 5, Britzer Str. in the district of Niederschöneweide you can find the "NS-Dokumentationszentrum Zwangsarbeit" (documentation center for nazi forced labour).

From 1943 to 1945 large barrack camps were established in industrial districts of Berlin, such as Schöneweide. Here, 13 barracks were built to house forced labourers from all over Europe.
After the war the barracks were used as storage  grounds by the Red Army. In 1946 they were turned into a civilian daycare center.

In 2004 it was decided to turn the camp into a documentation center for nazi forced labour.

Admission is free.
