S-Bahn and Tram station Schöneweide

"Zentrum Schöneweide" - the shopping mall next to the S-Bahn station.

Schnellerstraße is the local shopping mile. It's not exactly brimming with life.

River Spree. here separating the districts of Niederschöneweide and Oberschöneweide.

At Bruno-Bürgel-Weg you can walk along river Spree in the woods.

This is the district of Niederschöneweide

There’s not much to look at in Niederschöneweide. It’s an old working man’s district located in former East Berlin. Walking along the streets mostly is simply boring. Of course there are restaurants of all kinds, like everywhere in Berlin and most of them are pretty cheap. But not so the Greeks, the Chinese and the Indians, because in Niederschöneweide they are pretty rare and exotic. There’a a shopping mall at the S-Bahn station Schöneweide including a little McDonalds, but that’s not much of a tourist attraction.

In 5, Britzer Str. you can find the "NS-Dokumentationszentrum Zwangsarbeit" (documentation center for nazi forced labour), but that of course also isn’t very funny.

At Bruno-Bürgel-Weg you can walk along the river Spree in the woods.
There also used to be the "River Spree Bath", wich is now closed because of environment contamination caused by East-Berlin. Old battery factories and stuff like that.

How to get to Niederschöneweide:
S8, S9, S46 and S47 all go to Schöneweide.
