The ugly part of Marzahn
The
pyramid at the intersection of Landsberger Allee
and Rhinstraße, one of Berlin's highest buildings.
Here you
can find the biggest clock in Europe.
The clock is a large system of
lights. Just find out how it works.

This is the district of Marzahn
Marzahn
is a strange district. Once a romantic little village (remains
of
that can still be seen) it was totally disfigured
with hundreds of ugly blocks and skyscrapers by the
East-Germans in
the 1970's. After they could see what they had done to Marzahn
they had second thoughts and started to make it better. So in 1987 they
built a big theme-park, the themes being China, Bali, Japan,
Korea
and other oriental landscapes. It was a huge success and now the park
is highly frequented, not only by the local folks.
There's also a pretty unique barber's museum (located at Alt-Marzahn
31) and if you want nature you can wander along river Wuhle in
Wuhletal.
