This is the district of Hellersdorf

You love East German concrete slab buildings? Then Hellersdorf is the place to go.
It doesn't look like a place where one wants to live, but the East German folks were quite eager to move to Hellersdorf from their shabby flats in central Berlin, where a lot of them didn't have warm water or central heating in their barely renovated old houses.

About 30% of the population is under 18 years and also about 30% of all mothers are singles. Hellersdorf has Berlin's highest rate of pupils leaving school prematurely without a diploma.
